Description

NOTES:

Use this platform as a substitute for a toe kick on a run of base cabinets. Once leveled and installed, base cabinets can then be stacked on top of this platform. Be sure to skin the face of this platform with a toe skin or base molding as the case material used will be the pre-finished maple plywood. See our tutorials for more info on using this product prior to ordering.

There are some key uses for this product:

1. You can install this platform in long lengths up to 96" in width. Once you level and secure this platform to the wall, then installing the base cabinets is very simple as there is no need to level each individual cabinet (i.e. the platform is already stable and level). Simply screw each base cabinet down to the platform and secure by screwing through the deck of the base cabinet into the top stretchers of the platform (1.25" long wood screws work well for this). Be sure to order the base cabinets without a toe kick, and be sure to reduce the height of each base cabinet accordingly to account for the platform height.

2. You can order this platform at custom heights. This allows for decorative base moldings to be ordered at custom heights as well. For example, in a decorative hutch example, you can order this platform at 8" height, and apply a length of 8" tall base molding to the face, to give your cabinet run a very grand flush toe kick. The same is true for island applications as you can customize the base molding to whatever height you wish.

Note the following before ordering:

Toe skins and base moldings are ordered separately from this cabinet. This platform will need a toe skin or a base molding to cover the face, sides, and back if exposed to view once installed.

This cabinet comes standard with grey melamine plywood for the case construction. The top edge of the platform will be edge banded with your choice of edge banding.

This cabinet is extremely rigid and heavy duty. It is designed to hold the weight of any cabinets, or countertops+cabinets placed on top of it. Do not worry about weight capacity tolerances with this cabinet as it was designed for anything you can throw at it :)
